During a three-year period the Dogme municipalities in Denmark will develop a Dogme manual that is to serve as an inspiration and ”getting-started-guide” for Danish and foreign municipalities with an interest in making an extra effort for the environment. The manual will, among others, contain a number of concrete tools and methods that may be used in the efforts for environmental improvements in the municipalities.
The four focal points of the Dogme manual are:
- Common model for municipal green accounts
- Chemicals plan
- Anchorage of environmental work
- New audit model for the Dogme.
In addition a projectgroup is working with:
- Dissemination of the project
The Life project is to sustain and further develop the Danish Dogme 2000 model for environmental management at municipal level. Work is supported by funds from the EU Life programme.

Dogme 2000 is a cooperation between five Danish municipalities having set up a number of common targets for their work towards a better environment and sustainability. The five Dogme municipalities are Albertslund, Ballerup, Fredericia, Herning and Copenhagen. The cooperation is led by a steering committee consisting of politicians and officials from the Dogme municipalities. In an intermunicipal cooperation, the officials work to implement the targets of the Dogme.
In addition to the five Danish municipalities, two external partners are involved in all the sub-projects: Siualai of Lithuania and Neumünster of Germany. These two municipalities are to ensure that the Dogme manual is also usable outside Denmark. |
